A long time ago, there was a dense forest where a young elephant named Gajaraj lived with his herd. Gajaraj was a little different from the beginning - he would jump and skip, look at the flying birds and think, "I wish I could fly too."
The other animals would laugh at him, say, "Elephants can't fly, you're crazy!"
But Gajaraj's mother would always say, "If you believe with all your heart and work hard, you can reach places no one thinks you can."
Gajraj never gave up his dream of flying. Every day he would try to jump like a bird, make wings out of leaves, try to jump off small hills. People would make fun of him, but he wouldn't pay attention.
One day, there was a drought in the forest. The herd had no water. All the animals were sad. Then Gajaraj remembered an old bird story about a dry lake with a hidden reservoir behind the mountains.
Gajraj decided to find that reservoir.
Everyone said, "You are too young, that path is dangerous!" Gajaraj smiled and said, "So what if I can't fly? I can still walk towards my dreams."
Gajaraj set out alone. Thorny bushes, steep climbs, hunger and thirst - he endured it all, but did not give up. He remembered his mother's words at every step.
Three days later, the exhausted Gajaraj reached a hill and looked down - a blue, sparkling reservoir!
He shouted with joy and ran back to the jungle.
He showed everyone the way. Soon the whole herd reached the new reservoir. The animals were saved.
Now when someone said, "Elephants cannot fly," the whole jungle would answer, "Gajraj did not fly, but he gave everyone the courage to fly."
